Fire guts Jincheng recycling facility in Surulere, Lagos

A fire broke out on Monday afternoon at a recycling plant operated by Jincheng Company, located at 11B Eric Moore Road in Surulere, Lagos, consuming a substantial portion of the facility.

The incident, which was reported around 12:15 p.m., prompted an immediate response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

Initial efforts by firefighters from the Sari-Iganmu Fire Station were bolstered by reinforcements from the Ajegunle Fire Crew due to the severity of the blaze.

According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, the fire is believed to have originated at the rear section of the main building and was likely triggered by negligence.
