Gunmen abduct woman in Kebbi, demand N20 million ransom

Gunmen have kidnapped a married woman, Nafisa Usman, from her home in Gayi village, located in the Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Family members reported that the assailants invaded her residence around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, forcibly entering her room and taking her away while leaving other occupants unharmed.

The family claims that the kidnappers, believed to be herdsmen, have demanded a ransom of N20 million for Nafisa’s release.

In response to the incident, Alhaji Yahya Kuka, the Chairman of Kalgo Local Government, condemned the abduction and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to secure the victim’s safe and unharmed return.

Attempts to obtain a statement from the Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, were unsuccessful, as he did not answer calls or respond to text messages at the time of this report.
