All football matches in Italy have been postponed as a sign of respect following the passing of Pope Francis on Easter Monday morning.
The Vatican confirmed the news of the Pope’s death at the age of 88.
In tribute to the Bishop of Rome, all senior men’s and Under-20 top-flight fixtures have been called off.
The Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A released a statement shortly after the Pope’s death, announcing the postponement of matches scheduled for today.
The postponed Serie A matches include:

– Torino vs. Udinese (11:30 am BST)
– Cagliari vs. Fiorentina (2 pm BST)
– Genoa vs. Lazio (5 pm BST)
– Parma vs. Juventus (7:45 pm BST)
Primavera 1 Matches Also Postponed
The Primavera 1 matches that have been postponed are:
– Roma U20s vs. Udinese U20s (11 am BST)
– Monza U20s vs. Sassuolo U20s
– Sampdoria U20s vs. Torino U20s
However, the exact dates for the rearranged matches have not been announced yet, as stated by Serie A: “The Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A announces that the matches scheduled for today of the Serie A Enilive and Primavera 1 Championships are postponed to a date to be determined.”
