FCT: Police engage armed robbers in gun duel, arrest 2, recover stolen cars

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command says its operatives have arrested two notorious armed robbers disturbing the peace of the nation’s capital.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh said in a statement on Sunday that the arrest followed a distress call regarding an “ongoing robbery” at Royal Court Estate, Jahi II on March 27.

She explained that upon arrival at the scene, the operatives were engaged in a gun duel by the hoodlums.

According to the statement, the suspects were overpowered by the superior firepower of the police operatives and attempted to flee with gunshot injuries.

“A hot pursuit ensued, leading to the arrest of two suspects — Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa – both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi”, she added.

“This significantly enhances recovery efforts in the unfortunate event of theft or robbery,” the statement added.
