United States President Donald Trump said he will likely be speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Trump disclosed this while speaking with reporters on Air Force One Sunday night.
Fox News reports that Trump was returning to Washington, DC, from Florida when he told the reporters of the upcoming discussion.
“We will see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday,” Trump said.
According to the report, the US President also shared that the possibility of divvying up land, power plants and other assets has been discussed in an attempt to end Russia’s war in Ukraine
News360 Info reports that Trump is trying to win Putin’s support for a 30-day ceasefire proposal that Ukraine accepted last week and which Putin says needs to meet crucial conditions to be acceptable.
Russia had demanded ironclad guarantees in any peace deal on Ukraine, that NATO nations will exclude Kyiv from membership and that Ukraine will remain neutral.
