Kidnappers raid village near Nigeria-Cameroon border, abduct four victims

Suspected kidnappers have abducted four individuals, including a medical professional from Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, in Mayo Kila, a village near the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Jada Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

The attack took place around 1:30 a.m. on February 17, when armed assailants raided the community and took the victims into the mountainous region along the border.

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that a distress call was received at approximately 3:30 a.m., prompting an immediate security response.

Officers were dispatched to the scene, and a joint team of police operatives and local hunters has been mobilized to ensure the victims’ safe rescue and apprehend the perpetrators,” a police source said.

Security patrols in the area have been intensified, and the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
