The lawmaker representing Abia North senatorial district, Senator Orji Kalu, has admitted that there is significant economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s regime.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain said in a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday that his 2027 political ambition has been put on hold due to the hunger ravaging his constituents.
The lawmaker said he chose to prioritise the welfare of his people and issues affecting the nation over the 2027 politics.
He wrote: “My focus right now is not on the politics of 2027, but on the people of Abia North Senatorial District and how to improve their lives because there is hunger in the land.
I can’t be talking about politics when my people are hungry.
My priority at the moment is to deliver more dividends of democracy, put smiles on the faces of my people, and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other patriotic Nigerians in tackling the issues affecting the progress of our great nation.
