Operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corp has arrested 25-year-old Ojo Adewunmi for attempting to rape a 19-year-old girl on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Ilawe-Ekiti.
According to the corps’ Head of the Communications, Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, the suspected rapist forcefully locked the victim indoors in an attempt to rape her.
However, his plans were foiled when Amotekun operatives arrived at the scene, responding to the victim’s screams for help.
The victim narrated her ordeal, describing how she was helpless until the Amotekun officers arrived to rescue her. The suspect has since been handed over to the Police Division in Ilawe-Ekiti for further investigation and possible prosecution.
