Recall Sowunmi had recently hinted at the possibility of a fresh alliance among opposition politicians ahead of the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria.

News360 Info reports that Sowunmi, who was part of a recent meeting at the National Secretariat of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), alongside former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, allies of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and others, stated that something is likely to happen.

Speaking during an interview appearance on TVC, the former governorship candidate of the PDP in Ogun State, who spoke against the backdrop of the meeting at the SDP secretariat, disclosed that opposition members need to banter and see where the discussions end.

He added that the idea to sit together and discuss was the brainchild of the SDP National Chairman, Shehu Gabam, whom he described as a friend.
