When I finally saw her, she was everything I hoped for and more: warm, gracious, and truly lovely. I nervously shared my recent milestone, Something Like Gold, and her response left me speechless. She looked at me with genuine pride and said, “I’m proud of you.” Those words felt like a hug for my soul.

2025, you’re already unforgettable. This moment is a sign that this year holds so much promise. Standing before one of the most incredible women I’ve admired for years, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and nervous excitement. I had so much to say, but my emotions got the best of me. And then, she said something I’ll never forget: “It’s Black Girl Magic.

That meant everything to me. Genevieve, I promise to keep making you proud. From the depths of my heart, I love and appreciate you more than words can express. Thank you for reminding me that dreams really do come true.
