Ex-President Buhari mourns former UniAbuja VC, Nuhu

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has described the late Professor Nuhu Yaqub, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, as a “scholar par excellence” whose contributions to Nigeria’s intellectual and academic development will not be forgotten.

Professor Yaqub, who also served as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Sokoto, passed away last Saturday at the age of 74.

In a tribute issued by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Saturday, Buhari expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the distinguished academic, highlighting his immense contributions to education, public policy, and national development.

I have known him for many years as a towering scholar whose knowledge, passion, and insights on public policy were taken very seriously by serious administrators,” Buhari said.
