Verydarkman Makes U-Turn, Claims His NGO’s ₦180 Million Wasn’t Missing

Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), took to his Instagram page earlier today, December 31, to provide clarity regarding the controversy surrounding his NGO’s missing funds.

In a follow-up to the headline-making the rounds since December 27, where Verydarkman announced that a sum exceeding ₦180 million had been removed from his NGO’s account by unknown hackers, he reassured his fans about the current status of the funds.

In a video that VDM captioned, “The conclusion of the missing 180 million naira from my NGO account the investigation has ended”, the influencer lambasted Nigerians who believed that the funds were missing without verifying the claims.

After lambasting his critics in the video, VDM said: “No money is missing; my funds are secure”.

He expressed his disappointment at the eagerness with which some people reacted to the news.

He humorously recounted instructing his website manager to temporarily take down the site as a way to engage with those who were quick to judge without seeking the full story.

“It’s quite disheartening to see the excitement around negative news,” he added.

Recall that on December 29, Verydarkman announced that his team had successfully recovered ₦78 million so far from the alleged missing funds.

To address the remainder of the missing funds, he claimed that he and his team would be traveling to Ghana to further investigate the matter and identify those involved in organizing the hack. He also emphasized the ongoing review of his NGO’s website to ensure security.

Amidst the supposed turbulent period, VDM posted a photo of himself in a natural setting via his Instagram page, highlighting his resilience with the message: “NA MONEY LOST NO BE ME LOST.”
