A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed December 17, 2024, for judgment in the murder trial of Tombari Eedey-Taol, accused of killing eight-year-old Edebari Littia-Gonis.
Eedey-Taol is facing a four-count charge, including sexual abuse, child exploitation, unlawful sexual relations with a minor, and the murder of Littia-Gonis.
According to the charges, Eedey-Taol allegedly had carnal knowledge of the minor during a church vigil in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The accused has pleaded not guilty to the allegations and remains in remand custody pending the outcome of his trial.
During the court session, the trial judge, Justice Margaret Opara, informed counsels for both parties that the judgment would be delivered on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
