Nigeria’s govs meet, discuss constitution amendment, stamp duty

The governors of the 36 states of the federation have deliberated on constitution amendment and stamp duty.

They met in Abuja on Wednesday to discuss the critical issues of national importance.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, briefed the governors on how far the parliament has gone on the issue of constitutional amendment.

According to him, the House received 40 bills regarding the review and amendment of the nation’s constitution.

Kalu, who is the Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, further stated that the House was considering the December 2025 deadline to complete the amendment.

The meeting, which was in progress at press time, was also discussing the Africa Investment Forum, AIF.

The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, was also expected to brief the governors on the state of affairs in his ministry.
