Blackout Hits Four Northern States As Transmission Lines Trip

Gombe, Bauchi, Benue and Plateau have been affected by power outage due to a fault on the 330kV double circuit transmission lines of Ugwuji-Makurdi-Jos.

News360 Info understands that the affected northern states are within the franchise area of Jos Electricity Distribution Company.

In a statement on Friday, the Head of Corporate Communications, JEDC, Friday Elijah, said the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s engineers are currently working to rectify the fault.

Elijah apologised for the inconvenience and expressed appreciation for the customers’ patience.

He said, “The tripping of the lines occurred this afternoon at about 1221 hours today, Friday, 15th November 2024, resulting in the loss of power supply on all our 33KV feeders.

TCN engineers are already assiduously working to rectify the faults.

Gov Eno Fires Ibom Power MD
In other news, the Awka Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has sacked the Managing Director and CEO of Ibom Power Company (IPC), Meyen Etukudoh, from his role with immediate effect.

Naija News reports that the termination was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and made available to journalists in Uyo.

According to the statement, Eno’s decision to dismiss Etukudoh aligns with an ongoing restructuring initiative aimed at aligning the state’s power sector with the administration’s ARISE Agenda.
