The Bauchi Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Adamu Alkasim, who was killed in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis.
The suspects were identified as Usman Shehu (alias Babayaro), 20, and Abdullahi Abubakar (alias Ababa), 19.
Spokesman of the Bauchi Police Command, SP Ahmed Wakil confirmed the arrests in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. “Shehu and four others allegedly attacked and killed Alkasim,” Wakil said.
Acting on the report, the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, ordered a thorough investigation, which led to the arrest of Shehu and Abubakar.
Wakili said the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to apprehend other suspects still at large.
The police are urging members of the public with information on the fugitives’ whereabouts to assist in the investigation, Wakil added.
