A 24-hour curfew has been enforced by the Borno State Police Command in light of the countrywide hunger protest.
According to News360 Info, the statement was made on Thursday after a large number of demonstrators went crazy in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, after police used tear gas to disperse them.
The source said that hundreds of enraged demonstrators set up barriers to stop traffic and smash the windshields of private and business cars that insisted on passing.
