Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has stated that his recent remarks regarding Nigeria’s population challenges were not directed towards any particular individual or area, and he stands by them without offering an apology.
According to News360 Info, President Bola Tinubu’s supporter Fayose recently asserted that high family sizes and polygamy play a major role in Nigeria’s population crisis.
In an interview with Channels TV, Fayose stated that “indiscriminate” marriage and childbearing, especially in Northern Nigeria, are the root causes of Tinubu’s struggles to deal with economic hardship.
