Guidelines and cautions on the scheduled statewide protest against hunger and suffering that is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 1, 2024, have been released by the Lagos State Police Command.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Police Command claimed to have taken the required steps to guarantee the security of people and their belongings, unhindered transportation, and a calm atmosphere throughout the protest in Lagos.
A court order restricting peaceful public protest, rallies, procession, and meetings to Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ikorodu Road, Ojota Lagos, and Peace Park, Ketu, Lagos from 8am to 6pm on August 1st–10, 2024, was received by the police, according to the statement signed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police. The police’s operatives would ensure strict compliance with the order.
