On Wednesday, a group of gunmen posing as members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) attacked several locations in Owerri, the capital of Imo state.
There were intermittent gunshots heard in several areas of the state capital, including Ikenegbu, the back gate of Imo State University (IMSU), Wetheral Road, Amawusa, and the Toronto axis. This caused the locals to become alarmed.
Henry Okoye, the spokeswoman for the Imo State Police Command, announced this in a statement on Wednesday, according to Naija News.
