The Federal and State governments have tried to put an end to the demonstration, claiming that thugs and opponents of democracy would take advantage of it, but some young people in Niger State have taken to the streets to voice their disapproval of the country’s continuous crisis of high living expenses.
According to information obtained by News360 Info, the demonstrators were heard screaming anti-government songs and carrying signs that read, among other things, “Enough is Enough,” “Stop Anti-Masses Policies,” “We Are Not Slaves In Our Country,” “Hardship Is Unbearable,” and “Fuel Subsidy Must Be Back.”
Some of the demonstrators on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway reportedly refused to talk to journalists who approached them, according to Daily Trust.
