Young Nigerians have been urged by a group of Islamic clerics to postpone the August national demonstration.
Following their meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, the clergy made this appeal.
The protest, which is expected to occur in all 36 states as well as the Federal Capital Territory, was spurred by the nation’s increasing economic difficulties and rising cost of living. It has garnered popularity on social media.
President Tinubu met separately on Thursday with APC governors, traditional leaders, and Islamic clerics to discuss methods for preserving peace and order in reaction to the growing turmoil.
