Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central who served in the 8th National Assembly, has disassociated himself from the statewide demonstration that is set to take place August 1–10, 2024. He claims that the protest organizers lack a clear leader and are faceless.
Speaking to media in Kaduna on Thursday, Sani, according to News360 Info, underlined the value of nonviolent protest combined with visible leadership in order to prevent the country’s potential for instability.
Citing his own experiences participating in protests with prominent leaders like President Bola Tinubu, former President Muhammadu Buhari, and late Balarabe Musa, among others, during the military days and the 2012 Anti-subsidy protest, he urged for nonviolent demonstrations under clear leadership.
