The government of Edo State has asked Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja to postpone the implementation of the ruling that restored Philip Shaibu to his position as the state’s deputy governor.
The state filed an appeal on Thursday, claiming that Shaibu’s return will interfere with the government’s ability to run smoothly.
Oluwole Iyamu (SAN), the state’s attorney, submitted the application and requested that the reinstatement be put on hold until the judgment’s appeal was handled.
