I Decided To Contest For Governor Because Obaseki Threatened To Destroy Me – Shaibu

Reinstated Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu claimed that after Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki threatened to destroy him, he was more motivated to follow his dream of becoming governor.

If Obaseki had been reasonable and had a good rapport with him, Shaibu stated he would have given up on his desire to become governor.

He said that if it had meant keeping their relationship intact, he would have let the governor have his way.

Shaibu insisted that he won the governorship primary of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party because he had 381 delegates who, had they not been barred from the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on February 22, would have cast ballots for him.
