An order has been obtained by the High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to stop the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its ward-level congresses, which are set to begin tomorrow (Saturday).
Justice Charles Wali banned the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, its national secretary, and National Chairman, Iliya Damagum, or their representatives, from meeting anywhere in Rivers State to conduct state, local, or ward congresses until the court rules on the ongoing case. This directive was made in his ruling on Friday.
According to New360 Info, the lawsuit challenging the Congress’s structure was filed by at least one PDP member from each of the 23 Local Government Areas.
