Due to the current hardships in the country, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has issued a warning to the organizers of the planned nationwide demonstration, which is set to take place from August 1 to August 10, to make sure that miscreants do not hijack it.
Speaking to State House media following President Bola Tinubu’s meeting with the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, Ooni asserted that protesting is a citizen’s right, according to News306 Info.
He said that traditional leaders will not tolerate acts of looting and the breakdown of law and order, adding that President Tinubu is receptive to communication and cognizant of the difficulties facing the country economically.
