Rufus John Isip, a self-described forex broker, has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with conspiring to defraud investors out of approximately ₦2 billion.
Isip made an appearance in the Federal High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, before Justice C. S. Onah.
In a statement released on Saturday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale stated that Isip and his business, ITM-IT Resources Limited, are accused of eight counts, which include money laundering, fraudulent conversion, and gaining by false pretense.
