Colonel BT Vandi, a Nigerian Army retiree, was discovered dead at the Defence Academy base camp on Vom Road in Jos, Plateau State.
The retired officer had checked in a few hours earlier, and it was learned that at approximately 3:20 pm, an attendant discovered him dead in his room.
The late Col Vandi was said to have arrived at the camp guest room on July 16 and was found deceased on July 17.
The deceased’s body would be taken to the 3 Division Military Hospital in Jos for an autopsy and investigation, according to the source.
Major Aliyu Danja, the acting deputy director of Army Public Relations for the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army, confirmed the occurrence in a statement.
