Members of the Katsina State House of Assembly staged a dramatic protest against Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s directive prohibiting the use of mobile phones during a joint meeting with the governor on Wednesday at the Katsina State Government House.
The legislators claimed that Governor Radda gave security guards instructions to make sure that every member turned in their cell phone before going into the conference room.
The parliamentarians’ protest walkout caused the joint meeting, which was originally set for 11 am, to be postponed by around two hours.
