The Rivers State House of Assembly, chaired by Martin Amaewhule, has announced a complete stop to all state spending.
The most recent event, according to reports, comes after Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s seven-day deadline to present the 2024 budget to the House expired.
This week’s deadline for the ultimatum is based on a motion made by the Pro-Nyesom Wike Assembly’s Deputy Speaker, Dumle Maol, requesting adherence to a court decision that upheld the assembly’s current membership and leadership.
