Eight Chinese nationals and one Nigerian have been charged by the Federal Government for engaging in illicit mining activities in the Lokpaukwu hamlet, Umuchieze, under the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ (NSCDC) elite security squad, the Mining Marshals, captured these people.
The goal of this task group is to eradicate illicit mining activities.
