Ukraine Accuses Russia Of Terrorism, Says Over 40 Missiles Used In Attack

Ukraine on Tuesday accused Russia of terrorism following its strike on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv.

The strikes which were launched in the Ukrainian capital on July 8 saw many people trapped, including children.

Condemning the attacks, the Ukraine Ambassador to Nigeria, Ivan Kholostenko, said the number of casualties is unknown.

The Ukrainian envoy said the medical facility had been severely damaged by the Russian strike.

“The Russian army fights with children. So what is the difference between such actions and acts of terrorism?” the envoy questioned.

“On July 8 Russia launched a missile attack on peaceful Ukrainian cities – Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. In this attack more than 40 missiles of various types were used against Ukraine.”

Purposefully Hitting Medical Facilities
According to the ambassador, Russia has been deliberately attacking its medical facilities as well as Ukrainian civil infrastructure.

The aim, the envoy stated, is to eliminate as many Ukrainians as possible.

In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, missiles hit Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, where medical specialists save the lives of hundreds of children every day. The hospital has been severely damaged by the Russian strike and lots of people, including children, were trapped under rubble. The exact number of casualties is still unknown,” he said.

Crimes Against Humanity
The ambassador corroborated the position of Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that Russia must be held accountable for all its crimes against people, particularly children.

“Russia cannot claim ignorance of where its missiles are flying and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes, against people, against children, against humanity in general.

It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this now, and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing.”
