The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors convened in Abuja on Friday to further discussions regarding the introduction of a single regional currency, the ECO.
This momentous gathering emphasizes a shared goal to promote economic expansion and strengthen integration throughout West Africa.
The largest economy in the region, Nigeria, strongly endorsed the summit.
Wale Edun, Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, emphasized in a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance the critical role that the ECO is anticipated to play in promoting economic development within the community.
