Sanusi Bature, the governor of Kano State’s spokesperson, has received a severe warning from Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court in Kano. He is being threatened with imprisonment for allegedly distorting court proceedings.
This happened not long after the judge rendered a decision on the Kano State Commission of Inquiry, which has been closely scrutinized by the legal community.
Judge Amobeda directed that Bature and any media representatives in the courtroom receive a Certified True Copy (CTC) of his verdict right once, voicing his dissatisfaction over previous misrepresentations by state officials.
