4,732 kg of hard drugs was seized by NDLEA in Adamawa.

4,732.128 kg of hard narcotics have been seized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) Adamawa State Command.

The illicit substances that were taken into custody from various locations throughout the state in the last year include: Cannabis sativa, sometimes known as Indian hemp; Cocaine; Tramadol; Exol-5; Diazepam tablets; syrup containing codeine; Rohypnol tablet; and Pentazocine injection. Methamphetamine is also known by the street moniker Ice.

The state commander of the NDLEA, Agboalu Samson, spoke to reporters in Yola on Friday to kick off a week-long schedule of events commemorating this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He stated that the drug seizures recorded between June 2023 and May 2024 represent a 75% increase over the seizures of the June review year prior.
