According to the Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), 7,149 kg of drugs were taken into custody between July 2023 and June 2024.
This was revealed by Peter Onche-Odaudu, the state’s NDLEA commander, during a news conference on Thursday in Lafia.
As part of the week-long celebration of the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking, there was a briefing held.
Despite the enormous logistical obstacles and lack of funding, Onche-Odaudu remarked that the difficult effort of combating the threat of drug usage and illicit trafficking has yielded some small successes.
