Endwell Ejindu, the former president of the Student Union Government (SUG) of Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Port Harcourt, was shot and killed in the midst of the political unrest roiling Rivers State.
The state’s Ahoada East Local Government Area is where the incident took place.
Along with some Ijaw youths, the SUG president from the 2017–2018 school year reportedly participated in the youth demonstration at the council headquarters on Tuesday.
Channels TV reports that at approximately nine o’clock on Tuesday night, Ejindu was shot at close range by unidentified gunmen along the Ula-Upata Road in the main town of Ahoada.
The Rivers State Police Command has not responded to requests for comment at the time this report was filed.
