Edo: Police nab 8 ex-convicts for alleged kidnapping

 

The operatives of the Edo State Police Command said it has arrested eight ex-convicts for alleged kidnapping in Uromi, in Esan North East Local Government Area of the State.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, made this to newsmen in Benin City.

He said a couple was among the suspects arrested in different locations of Uromi town, Idumukhala’s quarters, Uromi, Awo Uromi, Ugboha bush and Egbele.

He explained that the suspects were arrested by the operatives of Uromi Divisional Headquarters based on credible intelligence from one Daniel Ibhahebhomen, a Sector 1 Commander of Edo State Security Network, ESSN, Uromi,

The commissioner said the ESSN sector 1 commander, in his complaints, alleged that one Asene Ogah, an ex-convict was invited by Hope Oboh Odianosen, Ikekhua Ehiamen and others who are members of a criminal gang of kidnappers to join them in kidnapping operations.

Adegboye named the suspects as Hope Ibhazukor, Oboh Odianosen, Ikekhua Ehiamen (Juju priest), Kenneth Christopher, Patrick Saturday, Eric Itoha, Emeka Ojon and Charity Oboh.

He said items recovered from the suspects are one double barrel gun, a Dane gun, 6 rounds of live cartridges, one box containing charms and two toy pistols.
