The Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu has revealed why his principal is challenging the certificate of President Bola Tinubu.
According to Shaibu, there is a notable inconsistency in the graduation dates on the certificates submitted by President Tinubu to both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Atiku’s lawyer.
Shaibu stated that Tinubu’s university certificate indicates a graduation date of June 27, 1979, while the certificate submitted to INEC states June 22, 1979.
He asked why one person would have two different graduation dates on distinct certificates.
Atiku’s aide further stated in an interview with Channels TV that it is not their business if Tinubu graduated or not, but the issue around his certificate is their concern.
Shaibu said “If he graduated or did not graduate is not our business. What we went there for was for one single thing. He submitted a certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the 2023 election.
“And when one of our lawyers based on the Subpoena wrote to the University. He said look, we need a copy of this certificate. They obliged him a copy and the copy of that certificate was completely different from what Mr. Tinubu submitted to INEC. We became curious.
In that certificate, they gave to our lawyer on Subpoena, it was clearly written there that one Bola A. Tinubu graduated from the University on the 27th of June 1979.
Meanwhile, the certificate Mr. Tinubu submitted to INEC said he graduated from the University on the 22nd of June 1979, how can one man have 2 dates of graduation.”
