Bayelsa Guber: PDP Has To Apologise To Me Before I Work With Them – Wike

The former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to apologise to him and some of his colleagues before working with the party in the upcoming Bayelsa governorship election.

Wike also added that the opposition party has to realise its mistakes which contributed to the loss of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 election.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) spoke against the background of the inclusion of his name in the list of members to lead the party’s campaign for the re-election of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state.

Speaking on Wednesday during an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike said the PDP should have contacted him first before including his name in the campaign council for the Bayelsa governorship election.

He, therefore, asked his party leadership to beg for his forgiveness and some of his colleagues, who were members of the G5 Governors, before agreeing to join the campaign train.

Wike said: “The PDP has to apologise to me and some of my colleagues before I can work with them in the Bayelsa elections.

I left my state very elated, very happy, like a hero. I worked in favour of justice, working in favour of equity and fairness.

You can’t enrol me into any team. Whatever I will do, I will do. If I want to enter APC today, I will talk to my people.”
