Police operatives in Adamawa State have allegedly arrested two criminal suspects among fleeing Kuje Correctional Centre inmates in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
Recall that some terrorists attacked Kuje prison on July 5, 2022. At least five people were killed in the attack while the terrorists freed 879 inmates, although almost half were recaptured in the following days.
The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) claimed responsibility for the attack. It was later disclosed that 64 people who escaped were high-profile members of the sect held at the facility.
However, in a statement released on Monday, Adamawa State Police Command said that it arrested two inmates who were among those who fled the Kuje facility following a jailbreak.
The command’s public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, identified the two fugitives as Atiku Ibrahim, 37, and Adamu Ibrahim, 40.
