Veteran Nollywood actor, Olaiya Igwe, has given the reason he went extra mile for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Naija News reports that Olaiya, in a post shared on his Instagram page, prayed for Tinubu’s victory unclad in somewhere at the sea.
He captioned the post: “It is my pleasure to support a candidate who truly reflects our values and highest ideals. There is one candidate in this election who will protect that dream.
“One leader who will fight hard to keep the promise of Nigeria for the next generation. And that’s why we must stand up and make ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU JAGABAN the next president of Nigeria.”
However, following the backlash from the video, Olaiya has come out to explain the reason for his action.
In a video uploaded by Punch, the actor disclosed that when he was sick, it was senator, Remi Tinubu that offered to fly him out of the country for treatment.
“The time I was sick, Remi called Ajala Jalingo to take me to Ikeja Teaching Hospital that they should take care of me and on the third day, she called and ask me if I have American visa and if I don’t have visa, they should quickly arrange it for me. So her husband will now come out for a position and I won’t support?”
Ey yaaa… probably you were unable or couldn’t express your appreciation when this good deed happened. So sorry about that. And now you stupidly decided to express it the most bizarre, occultic & ritualistic way by stripping naked in the sea. You own poverty has robbed you your mind & soul. But let me remind you that what happened to you that time will look like a malaria bout compared to what you’ll experience in the hand of Tinubu if he becomes president in the next 4 yrs. You wish an invalid to become president? Sycophant!
