The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially took over the government from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State on Sunday (today), as Senator Ademola Adeleke took an oath of office and allegiance as the state governor.
The oaths were administered to Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi, by the state Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo.
Adeleke was said to have arrived at the venue of the swearing around 11:20 am, after which his deputy mounted the podium to take his oath before the governor took his turn.
The event was graced by Adeleke’s nephew, David Adeleke, better known as Davido. There were cheers at the sight of the Nigerian singer as it was his first public appearance since the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, his son with Chioma Roland.
Those present at the event held at the main bowl of Osogbo City Stadium include the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, respectively.
