Half Salary: NGF Is Working With FG To Pay ASUU Salary Backlog – Badaru Tells Nigerian Students

The Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru has told Nigerian students that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) is working with the Federal Government to pay the seven-month salary backlog of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to him, the 36 governors of the federation have started working on adopting legal ways to resolve the matter with ASUU.

News360 info gathered that Badaru told the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja during the inauguration of its National Executive Council (NEC) that the NGF prays to get to the bottom of the issue because students have suffered enough.

The governor also prayed for the aversion of another strike, noting that he is aware President Muhammadu Buhari is in the know and everything is being done to ensure the smooth academic running of the country’s public universities.

The governor, who congratulated the NANS President, Usman Barambu and executives, pledged to support the association and improve its welfare.

Election is a difficult task and we must do it with the fear of God I know Barambu will lead this organisation with the fear of God and I know with your Exco you will have a wonderful future.

“I will be with you in difficult times, I will guide you, I will support you and I will open other doors for you and do our best to see to the elevation of this association which will remain the solid foundation for the development of this association.”
