The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has held another meeting with former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obi disclosed this himself on Monday via a tweet from the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
It has been reported that the two leaders met at the Abeokuta, Ogun State residence of the former Nigerian leader.
What Obi And Obasanjo Discussed
Revealing details of their discussion, Obi narrated in his tweet that they focused on matters of national importance.
“I deeply appreciate the opportunity to hold extensive discussions with President Olusegun Obasanjo earlier today on arising national interest matters. As usual, the exchanges were forthright and animated. -PO,” he tweeted.

Previous Meetings
This is not the first meeting between Obi and Obasanjo. It will be recalled that back In July, the LP candidate alongside his running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party (LP) National Chairman, Julius Abure, and the Senior Pastor, Trinity House Church, Ituah Ighodalo, visited Obasanjo.
Also, in August, Obasanjo met with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
The meeting which was held in London had in attendance some governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
‘Obasanjo May Support Peter Obi’
Labour Party South West Leader, Akin Osuntokun last Friday said former president, Olusegun Obasanjo may support the presidential ambition of Peter Obi in 2023.
The political adviser to the former President stated this during an interview on Arise TV on Friday.
Osuntokun when asked if Obasanjo is supporting Obi, he said, “I think so.”
He compared the support base of the former governor of Anambra State ahead of the 2023 election to the one that led to the victory of former United States President, Barack Obama.
