The convener of the Concerned Nigerian movement and political activist, Deji Adeyanju has called for the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu to be removed.
Adeyanju in a post on his Twitter account on Tuesday supported the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and his supporters in their demand for Ayu to go.
According to Adeyanju, Ayu as the party chairman conducted the most corrupt congresses and party primaries in the history of the party.
He wondered why the Chairman of the party, Chairman of BoT, and presidential candidate would come from the North.
Adeyanju in his take said the main opposition is not a northerner party, hence the need for Ayu to go.
There had been calls for Ayu to step down from office following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar, who is a northerner as the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Adeyanju while reacting to the call for Ayu’s removal wrote, “I agree with Gov Wike and his supporters that Ayu must go.
“The PDP chairman organized the most corrupt congresses and party primaries in the history of the party.
“Also to add:
Chairman BoT: North;
PDP Chairman: North;
Presidential Candidate: North.
It’s not a Northern party.”
