Ahead of the 2023 election, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, has warned the supporters of the Labour Party, (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
In a post shared on the microblogging platform Twitter, Ogunlesi said LP supporters should bring more to the table than insults.
This is amidst the speculations that Obi supporters bully and attack other Nigerians supporting other presidential candidates online.
The presidential aide urged LP supporters to bring facts, insight and evidence rather than hurl insults at other political parties and their supporters.
According to the presidential aide, insults didn’t work for the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 elections and will also not work for LP in 2023.
He tweeted: “You’re going to have to bring more to the table than insults. Bring facts, bring insight, bring evidence. Insults didn’t work for PDP in 2019, won’t work for LP in 2023.”
It has been recalled that Peter Obi recently called on his supporters to be tolerant of others’ views and divergent opinions.
But in a post on Twitter, Peter Obi urged his supporters not to shut the door to future collaboration.
