Nnamdi Michael, a member of the notorious gang responsible for beheading a member of Anambra state House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye, has been arrested by the state’s security operatives.
It was gathered that Nnamdi was arrested on Sunday, May 29th in Ebenator-Udene Village, Amichi, Anambra State’s Nnewi South Local Government Area.
Nnamdi was said to be one of the top leaders of the high profile terrorist syndicate referred to as “unknown gunmen,” according to EONS Intelligence.
Nnamdi, who is already in custody, admitted during questioning to being part of the gang, saying that they killed three politicians, including the beheaded lawmaker.
“The first thing we do to these politicians is to strip them naked, so as to get whatever we want from them”, he said.
“As for the one that was beheaded, it was not me who beheaded him.
“I had not been made the commander then, but I joined them during that operation.
“Our commander then is now dead,” he added.
His accomplice said to be a native doctor is still at large, however, it was gathered that his shrine was destroyed.
The state’s police public relations officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, failed to confirm the arrest, however, he stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
