Former Chief Security Officer to the late former military President of Nigeria, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha has disclosed that he has a list of fifty-six persons “eating Nigeria like termites”.
He added that at the appropriate time, he would reveal their names and identities but currently, the time for that is not ripe.
According to Al-Mustapha, fifty-six persons are richer than Nigeria as a country and if they go on leave for just six months, Nigeria will make progress.
He made the disclosure during an interview with the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation ( BBC).
On how he got the information, Al-Mustapha said during the interview that he got the list while he was an inmate at the Kirikiri prison in Lagos State where he served time over the allegations of complexity in the death of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the late Chief MKO Abiola.
Speaking further, Al-Mustapha who regained his freedom in 2013 after the courts cleared him of any wrongdoing and is now seeking to contest the presidency of Nigeria on the platform of the Action Alliance ( AA), vowed to end insecurity in six months if he eventually emerges as the President of Nigeria in 2023.
He promised to live in the Sambisa Forest even as the President in order to deal with the terrorists and bandits operating in the country.
“If I become the President, I will live in Sambisa; I will stay there during weekends, holidays and see if anyone will touch me. I will deal with the problem of insecurity no matter whose ox is gored.”
“Look at the silly act of Boko Haram, I swear if it is not possible in 6 months to deal with them, I will demote all these senior officers and send them home. They would be prosecuted and must return the money given to them. I will probe them,” he said.
He lamented that the Military has become very corrupt which has limited their operational capabilities.
“Nigerian soldiers have now become policemen and you know how corrupt our police are. So, within these six months, I will bring sanity into the way the Nigerian military operates to be able to confront emerging security threats with renewed vigour and commitment.”
On President Muhammadu Buhari, Al-Mustapha insisted that Buhari is a good man who is surrounded by sycophants and corrupt politicians who have in turn made his efforts unproductive.
According to him, once Buhari trists a person, he doesn’t oversee their work which has given room to the politicians working with the President to spoil the country.
“Those surrounding him are the problem of this country,” he said.
